It’s that time of year again and soon our youth will be done with their studies and off for the summer! LDMLFN would like to take this opportunity to say “well done” to our children and youth!  Please find information regarding two separate Education Awards that are available through our First Nation and Bimose Tribal Council which recognize the achievements of our Elementary and Secondary students.

LDMLFN – Casino Rama Elementary and Secondary Graduation Awards:

The Casino Rama graduation awards are given to LDMLFN band and community members that successfully complete Grade 8 and 12.  Grade 8 students are eligible to receive $100 and Grade 12 students $250.  If you know of a student who is graduating Elementary or Secondary school in June 2017 please contact Rikka Berkan (LDMLFN Education Program Officer) by phone at 807-622-9835 ext. 232 or email at rikkaberkan@tbaytel.net.  Monetary awards and certificates will be given after we receive the student’s official graduation documentation.

In addition, Grade 12 graduates will receive an additional Bimose OSSD Graduate award in the amount of $50 and a plaque.

One student will be selected for each category and each student is limited to one Bimose Student Recognition Award.  Bimose Award winners will receive $50 and a plaque.

To nominate a student, please write a short paragraph stating why you are nominating this individual for this award.  Additional documentation such as school report cards, awards, etc. will assist in the selection process.  Please forward the nomination along with any supporting documentation to Rikka Berkan (LDMFLN Education Program Officer) by email to rikkaberkan@tbaytel.net or send to LDMLFN, 1100 Memorial Ave, Suite 328, Thunder Bay, ON.
