LDMLFN Welcomes Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry to Community Land Base

LAC DES MILLE LACS FIRST NATION: Chief Whitecloud together with Councillor Tracy Morrison welcomed the Honourable Bill Mauro, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, to the community land base on August 4, 2015.

On behalf of the Lac des Mille Lacs community, it is an honour and a pleasure to welcome Minister Mauro to our lands and traditional territories. We are committed to building and fostering relationships with governments that are supportive of the re-development of LDML and the health and well-being of its community members,” said Chief Whitecloud.

The Minister had the opportunity to tour the Cultural Complex and Roundhouse as well as Phase one of the new lot development site.

I want to thank Chief Whitecloud and the Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation for their invitation to visit. The new cultural centre and roundhouse are spectacular and are an example of how people can live in harmony with their natural surroundings. You must be very proud of your accomplishments,” stated Minister Mauro.

Chief and Council extended the invitation to Minister Mauro as part of a larger commitment to continue to build on and work with all levels of government in a mutually respectful and meaningful manner to further the goals and vision of the First Nation.
