We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation Official Logo Design Contest is Ashlynn Dolph.  After receiving many creative entries, Ashlynn’s design was chosen. Please join us in congratulating Ashlynn on her winning logo design.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who had participated in the contest. All of the submissions that were received are truly works of art. Many of the entries were also very similar in nature which made it a difficult decision.

This design will be digitalized and become LDMLFN’s Official Logo.

Butterfly of Time
“In life we all go through change. In the beginning there is a caterpillar that symbolizes the first stage of growth, (the striped caterpillar in the center).  This was when Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation was starting out with the goals, and the ambitions. The next stage was the cocoon. The development of the community band members and the start of a foundation, a legacy, and the potential we create by staying strong in our decisions in a calm, collective way.

The final stage is full blossom. Designed to inspire our culture, the medicine wheel; strong symbol of hope and it binds our all our cultures together, no matter what color of skin. And it represents the four seasons. Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. (The reason I had use trees was to symbolize “Life” and “Purity”. )
Lastly; the sun and the moon that goes across our galaxy every day, and every night.. Symbolizing past, present, and the future.. Timeless.” by Ashlynn Dolph
