We are pleased to announce that Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation is holding a Tobacco Reduction Challenge. In an effort to promote tobacco reduction, we are challenging you to quit smoking for one week!

 

 

 

 

Why is this challenge for only one week?
Research shows that if you are successful for the first week, you are 9 times more likely to quit for good!

Who can participate?
All band and community members who regularly consume tobacco.


What are the prizes?
Your name will be entered into a draw with the following prizes:
1st name drawn- $500.00
2nd name drawn - $300.00
3rd name drawn- $200.00
Consolation Prize - $100.00

How do I sign up?
All you have to do is contact Mike Ignace at the Administration Office to sign up for the challenge. You must be signed up for the challenge by 4:00 PM on February 28, 2018.

What if I don’t succeed?
Don’t worry, research shows that it takes a person a realistic 10-30 attempts to quit smoking. Your name will still be entered into a draw for the consolation prize ($100.00), remember the goal of this challenge is for you to challenge yourself to reduce your tobacco intake.

What is required of me?
Sign up for the challenge by 4:00 PM on February 28, 2018
Quit smoking for the first seven days of March, 2018 (March 1-7)
Report to Mike Ignace at the Administration Office by 4:00 PM on March 9, 2018

When will the draws take place?
The draw will take place on Monday, March 12, 2018 and the winners will be posted to our website by 4:00 PM that day.

Funding for this challenge was made available through the Tobacco Reduction Strategy Funding.
