FLOOD CLAIM UPDATE

COMMUNIQUE To: Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation Band Members From: Chief and Council At the Annual General Membership Meeting, our registered Band Members received key information regarding the Flood Claim Settlement.  The Flood Claim Negotiations Team was in attendance to provide detailed information that included the historical and cultural context of the flood claim, land surveys and appraisals, a breakdown of the proposed financials, a plan for distribution, and legal details around the two remaining and outstanding agreements that will form part of the settlement.  Our membership was informed that the only remaining work that needed to be done ...

Fall Feasting of the Lands and Spirits 2016

With the leaves beginning to drop, and the cold weather quickly approaching, it is time for our Annual Fall Feasting of the Lands and Spirits.  This ceremony will take place October 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the Roundhouse.Our members are also encouraged to continue to feast their own drums, regalia, feathers, sacred items, etc.,in the spring and fall, and whenever required in their personal lives.

Treaty Annuity Payments

  Treaty Annuity Payments will be happening on August 23th, thru August 25th, at the Fort William First Nation Cultural Centre.  Please see poster below.

Live Free Live Righteous

LDMLFN Joins Wataynikaneyap Power

        To: LDMLFN Band Members  From: Chief and Council  Date: August 4, 2016 The community of Lac des Mille Lacs (Nezaadiikaang) First Nation is pleased to announce that it has joined Wataynikaneyap Power, a partnership of 22 First Nations who have joined together with private sector companies FortisOntario and Renewable Energy Systems Canada Inc. (RES) to build 1800 km of transmission lines in order to connect remote First Nations communities and reduce First Nation dependency on diesel fuel.
