Due to the late spring we have had, we were advised to push back the timing of our Spring Feast. The next available date was June 2nd. The First Nation and Elders Council are pleased to invite you to this ceremony at the traditional Roundhouse on Saturday June 2, commencing at 11:00 am.
28 First Nation communities including LDMLFN along with Indigenous and provincial leaders announced the signing of a series of resource revenue sharing agreements that will see money from mining and forestry operations in northern Ontario flow to First Nations partners in the territories where those activities take place. The agreements, made with First Nations represented by Grand Council Treaty #3, Wabun Tribal Council and Mushkegowuk Council, will see Ontario share 45 per cent of annual revenue from forestry stumpage with the First Nations.
