LDMLFN Extends Congratulations to the new Ontario Regional Chief
Chief and Council of Lac des Mille Lacs (Nezaadiikaang) First Nation extend their congratulations to the newly elected Ontario Regional Chief, Isadore Day (Serpent River First Nation). Regional Chief Day was elected earlier this week during the All Ontario Chiefs Meeting hosted by Anishinabe of Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation (Rat Portage) located in Treaty #3 territory.
“On behalf of Chief and Council I would like to congratulate Regional Chief Day on his election,” stated Chief Whitecloud (Judy Maunula). “I look forward to working with him in his new role on issues that are important to the well-being of our Lac des Mille Lacs community members.”
Chief Whitecloud along with Councillor Irma Churchill participated in the conference which focused on strengthening relationships. Main items on the agenda included updates on the political accord with Ontario, clean drinking water regulations, social services, justice and environment sector updates and youth and Elder reflections.
