Moose Hide Brain Tanning - In 2014 several Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation Community members along with Bimose Tribal Council representatives came together to learn how to brain-tan a moose hide in Anishinabemowin. The process was led by Elder Gerry Baxter, who was assisted by community Elders, adults and youth. The process was visually documented for the purpose of sharing the knowledge with Anishinabeg interested in learning language and traditional practices. The project was supported by Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation and Bimose Tribal Council.
