As discussed at the AGM/Community meeting on Monday Jan 8th, a review of the Housing Policy is underway. The time period for community review began Jan 4th, when the policy was posted to the website, and will end Jan 19th.  Please take some time the review the policy and provide feedback to the First Nation by way of email to ldmlfn@tbaytel.net , attention Jackie Peters. The Housing Policy and By-Laws were developed by the Housing Committee and professionally reviewed by Roxanne Harper, of Turtle Island Associates.  A number of recommendations came out of this review and they have all been addressed and incorporated into the current policy and by-laws.  They were further reviewed by a legal firm specializing in this area, Mike Strickland of Buset & Partners LLP, to ensure they are all legally sound.  The Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation is pleased to announce that the Housing Policy and By-Laws have been tentatively approved by Chief and Council.  We realize this has been a long process; but we truly believe ...

The Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry and the Ontario Fur Managers Federation will be holding a Fur Harvest, Fur Management and Conservation Course.  The course consists of 40 hours held on weekends over a two-week period.  The Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation will cover the costs associated with this course for interested band or community members.
