Community Drum Night We are currently compiling a list of Community Members who are interested in attending Community Drum Night.  In 2013, we were honoured with a drum that was presented to the Community by Rob Spade and Celeste Pedri.  A name has been put forth by an Elder, and its name means “Whirlwind” after a dream was shared about this drum.  Chi Miigwetch for your gift!   It is our hopes that we can gather interested Community Members to begin holding regular drumming sessions.  These sessions will include teachings about the drum, learning songs and their meanings, and a whole lot of practice.  Rob Spade, a ...

Dear Band and Community Members, I am excited to announce a Community Health Needs Assessment for the Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation in conjunction with Dr. Cheryl Everall of “The Joseph Esquega Health Center”. This study investigates the impact of legal and illegal substances such as tobacco, alcohol, opiates and prescription medication on Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation band and community members.
